Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to NUMED (Nusantara Mathematics Education) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of the published work.
1. Initial Screening
Each submitted manuscript is first screened by the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor to check for:
-
Relevance to the journal's focus and scope
-
Compliance with author guidelines
-
Plagiarism check using licensed software
-
Overall structure and language quality
Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be desk rejected without further review.
2. Assignment to Reviewers
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two reviewers with relevant expertise. The review process follows a double-blind model, meaning:
-
Authors do not know the identities of the reviewers
-
Reviewers do not know the identities of the authors
3. Review Process
Reviewers are given 2–4 weeks to evaluate the manuscript based on:
-
Originality and novelty
-
Theoretical and methodological rigor
-
Relevance and contribution to the field of mathematics education
-
Clarity of writing and structure
-
Adequacy of data and analysis
Reviewers will provide one of the following recommendations:
-
Accept without revision
-
Accept with minor revision
-
Revise and resubmit (major revision)
-
Reject
4. Decision
Based on the reviewers' feedback, the editor will make a decision:
-
Accept
-
Minor revision
-
Major revision
-
Reject
Authors are notified of the decision along with anonymized reviewer comments. For revised submissions, authors are required to submit a response letter detailing changes made.
5. Final Check and Publication
Once a manuscript is accepted, it undergoes:
-
Language editing and proofreading
-
Final formatting and typesetting
-
Assignment to a journal issue for publication
